Abstract
Coarctation in areas other than the aortic isthmus is rare.
It is most often located in the lower thoracic or upper abdominal, aorta where it tends to be long and involve one or more visceral branches.
The purpose of this paper is to present authors experience with 2 cases of aty¡þpical coarctation of¢¥ aorta which were treated surgically.
Two cases were male and female patients who were 7 year old.
All cases were located in the descending thoracic aorta whose, etiologies were suspected as due to aortitis.
Surgical repair with Dacron patch graft and resection with. Dacron prosthesis
graft were performed under the left atrium-femoral artery bypass procedure.
All cases are presented and results are outlined, and discussed in the context of previously reported data from the literature.
